January 2011 Favorites

1. Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer in Light Confession: I am a concealer junkie. I have very dark under eye circles (thank you genetics!). I have tried so many different concealers, high end and drug store alike. This is the best one I have ever used. I am obsessed with it and simply cannot stop singing its praises. It can be purchased at Walmart and I believe I paid around $6 for it. When I purchased it in December, I grabbed the last one in the light shade. They were totally sold out of the medium shade. They were well stocked in the tan shade. (there are only 3 shades which I guess could be considered a con but the light shade works perfectly for me). Every time I go back to Walmart, I have checked to see if they have restocked. Bad news: either they haven't or the two lighter shades are continuously sold out (which is totally possible since this concealer is getting a lot of attention in the online beauty world). At any rate, it is worth scouring your local Walmarts for this bad boy.

2. Bare Minerals Well Rested This goes hand in hand with #1. This is a multi tasking product but I honestly only use it for one thing: setting my undereye concealer. It doesn't settle into the fine lines and wrinkles (it pains me to even admit that I have any but *gulp* I'll be thirty in July!). This product also brightens up the undereye area and makes you look like you've had a great nights sleep--hence the name. You can buy this wherever Bare Minerals items are sold but I got mine at www.beauty.com for $18. Ebates is currently having a 12% cash back special for www.beauty.com so now is a great time to buy. If you aren't signed up for Ebates (it's free!) here is my referral link: Ebates Sidenote: If you are a mom, this product is a MUST HAVE!!

3. Garnier Skin Renew Anti Dark Circle Roller I seriously did not realize until I was typing this that my first three products go together. I use this product in conjunction with #1 and #2. I apply the anti dark circle roller to my under eye area first. Then the Hard Candy concealer and finally the Bare Minerals Well Rested. This is my current Holy Grail combination in the war against my dark circles. You can buy the anti dark circle roller at any drug store. I got mine at Walmart but noticed when I got my Ulta circular that it is currently on sale for $9.99.

4. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation This is the perfect light weight, light coverage foundation. It looks so natural and I adore that. I would not recommend this foundation if you prefer fuller coverage or if you have oily skin (I have combination skin that is drier than normal this time of year). I chose color 120 and it is a perfect match for my mid winter pale skin but I will have to bump it up a shade or two come spring/summer. I got it at Walmart and paid $6.48 (I love when I remember to leave price tags on so I can let you guys know how much I spent on a product).

5. Velcro Rollers These are your standard velcro rollers in the 2 inch size. I bought mine at Sally's but I'm sure you can purchase them elsewhere as well. I've been really into big, voluminous hair lately. What I've been doing is running my Chi through my hair and then while my hair is still hot, putting the velcro roller in. I do this all around my crown, where I want the lift and volume but you could do it all over your head it you want some Texas sized hair! Which I am thinking of trying....the bigger the better, right? Oh and I generally leave them in for about 30 minutes but you can do a shorter/longer amount of time depending on just how much volume you are going for.

What are your current favorite beauty products? I love trying new things--it's an obsession!
